Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend! By Monday night we were pooped and worn out. We started the weekend early with a trip to the Omaha Zoo. We had heard from quite a few people that it is a great zoo and it definitely was. We decided on a whim to go last Thursday; we were going to go closer to Cole's birthday but we were on our way home from Indiana. Cole really enjoyed all the animals and Parker even got into it. He would ooohhh and aaahhh at all the animals. He was such a good boy; he didn't sleep on the way there and stayed awake until we got in the car later that afternoon. He didn't whine or cry the whole time! I wish I could say that every day.

Friday night we had some friends over and used our fire pit for the first time. It was fun just hanging out. Saturday night our neighbors invited us to there pasture out in the county for a wiener roast; Cole had a blast running around out there. Sunday night we went to a birthday party for one of Cole's little friends. Again, Cole had a blast running around on their farm. He even got to ride a real fire truck and drive a mini four wheeler. After we came home some friends came over, and much to Keet's dislike, we played gestures, but he had more fun than he thought he would!

So, here are some pics from the past few days. The rest of this week should be fairly uneventful. We have been having fun with all the hot weather though. I will have to put some pics up of Cole playing in his pool and sprinkler. He has really gotten into it this year. I wish Parker would want to swim and stuff, but he just isn't interested at all.

My silly husband!

Our friends have a regular little petting zoo on their farm; here Parker is petting the donkey. Or, maybe I am forcing, but he was trying to reach it on his own!

Going to the fire truck!

Cole had so much fun on this thing; he was on it a lot!

What not to do: let your one-year old suck on a tool.

This was neat - I think Cole was very nervous crossing this bridge all by himself.

As you can see above, Parker is so tired, but he didn't close his eyes at all the whole time!

Parker's face when he would see an animal he liked.
