Cole is five weeks old!

It is hard to believe that we have had Cole for over five weeks now. The time has gone quickly as we are seeing more and more changes in him each day. One of the more exciting changes is that he is starting to smile now while fully awake instead of just when he is falling asleep. It is not yet a full smile, but he is well on his way. He is also a very strong little boy. He has been holding his head up for a few weeks now and he can even do so for minutes at a time. He also "jumps" off of us sometimes when we are holding him with his stomach on ours. This mainly happens when he is fussy and his legs are moving a lot.

Keet and I have enjoyed being together more this summer. He is working a few days in a row each week and then is home for about four days. For the three days that he works he is gone from early morning until midnight. It makes for some long days for all of us. One of the biggest challenges of being alone is not having another person to hold Cole. When he is awake, he usually cries when he is not being held and it can be difficult not being able to share the load with someone else. Nevertheless, the days go by pretty quickly and I am surviving.

Here are some more pictures of Cole. We can't believe how much he has changed. Enjoy!

Cole in the morning - not quite sure what to think.

Cole on his first hike - he did pretty well.
