Camping in Colorado

Last Friday we packed our car up and headed west to Colorado for a little family vacation. The first night we stopped in western Nebraska at a HUGE lake and camped there for one lake. Saturday morning we headed to Denver to spend the night in a hotel and go to church Sunday morning. After lunch we headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park and was there for 2 nights. We had reservations to camp there for three nights, but by the third night we decided to head back down to Denver and get a hotel so we could get a decent night sleep. We definitely had some ups and downs but overall we had some really good family time.

Here we are in western Nebraska. This little place was just a short walk from our campsite. The boys we able to play in a little area of the lake with their new toys. It was a relaxing evening. Unfortunately, we didn't know that Parker was sick. He had been pretty fussy but he ended up being pretty sick the next morning.

These are how the boys ended up our first morning in the tent. We brought Parker's pack n play for him to sleep in, but of course he didn't stay in it. He ended up down on the ground with us every morning. We bought a special Buzz Lightyear sleeping bag for Cole, but of course he wouldn't sleep in or on it. Just wanted his blanket. Well, in Colorado it got down into the forties at night, but he survived and didn't wake up too much.

Here is Cole at our campsite in Colorado. It was just about perfect as you can see in the picture below...

We had great views of the mountains and the moraine all around. COle loved playing on all the rocks. It was great.

So, you probably think Cole is reading, right? Nope! He is asleep. The boys didn't take naps in the tent so as soon as we got in the car late one afternoon this is what happened.

Here is Parker that same afternoon.

Of course, beautiful scenery everywhere! Makes us want to move to Colorado!

Campfire!

This is when we first arrived in the park and we decided to go ahead and do Trail Ridge Road. The boys had just fallen asleep. They soon woke up though and enjoyed looking at everything with us.

I used my Moby quite a bit with Parker and even once with Cole! We did a little bit of hiking, but Cole didn't cooperate too well on the trails. We still did a few and saw some beautiful sights.

One afternoon we got to see some Elk really close!

A view from our campsite.

Enjoying some SMORES!

I have a ton more pictures on Facebook!

Looks like you had a great time. I am impressed that Parker would stay in the moby. I don't think Wyatt would go for that at all. He climbs out of everything I put him in...stroller, cart, etc.
